Manchester United target Italian defender

Manchester United have made AC Milan defender Mattia De Sciglio their latest target, according to reports from The Express.

The Red Devils are set for a big summer of transfer activity, with David Moyes likely to be backed financially to make mass alterations to his underperforming squad.

Although a new midfielder is seen as a top priority, a fresh centre-back is also a pressing concern.

With Nemanja Vidic’s end of season move to Inter Milan now sealed, the Red Devils are believed to be looking at a player currently plying his trade at the San Siro in the shape of De Sciglio.

The eight-time Italy international has been in good form of late, alerting a host of clubs from across Europe – including real Madrid.

At 21, the Azzurri ace is seen as a player with a bright future ahead of him, and one with the necessary experience already to contribute to United’s first-team.

Juventus’ Angelo Ogbonna is also a target for the Red Devils, who are rumoured to be shifting their sights away from the likes of Eliaquim Mangala given that Champions League qualification may already be unachievable.
