Manchester United’s hopes of landing Atletico Madrid star Koke have been dealt a major blow after the player confessed that he is not looking to make a move.
The Spanish midfielder has been one of the Vicente Calderon-based side’s top performers in an impressive campaign, which has seen them keep pace with both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
David Moyes is believed to have been mesmerized by the 22-year-old, with rumours suggesting that he is ready to make him one of multiple recruits when the transfer window re-opens.
But the seven-time Spain international says that he is not interested in a transfer away from Atletico:
“I have a long contract and I am not thinking about leaving,” he is quoted by talkSPORT.
“Atletico is my home. I am happy that Simeone has confidence in me and I want to keep working for him for many years.”
Atletico are also keen to maintain their current relationship with the youngster, and are under no pressure to sell with his contract due to run until 2018.
Koke’s impressive form has put him in contention for a call-up ahead of the World Cup.
