Valencia star Adil Rami has suggested he would turn down an offer from Anzhi Makhachkala, which has caught the attention of Sir Alex Ferguson, according to TalkSport.

The Russian giants are looking to replace Chris Samba, but Rami has insisted he won’t be tempted by money to leave his current club.

Rami has already been scouted by Anzhi this season, but it seems their wealth won’t be enough to secure the Frenchman’s signing.

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Rami said: “I am very well here and there are still two years until the end of my contract.”

“For me the most important thing is to play. Money does not matter to me at this time in my life.”

Ferguson will also be looking to bolster his team’s defence, after conceding 15 goals in their 14 home games this season, a record that hasn’t impressed the Scot.

With the summer transfer window a few months away, the 27-year-old French international could be an ideal replacement for the ageing Rio Ferdinand.

After recently being knocked out of the Champions League by PSG, Rami and his teammates will have to turn their attention to their struggling league campaign. Los Che are currently 7th in La Liga, but a win against Real Betis on Saturday could move them up to 4th.
