Manchester United to launch big move for German star

Mesut Ozil (Real Madrid)Manchester United boss David Moyes is ready to make a high-profile move for Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Scot has made the German international one of his top targets for the remaining days of the summer transfer window, as he looks to draft in a genuine big name to announce his time at Old Trafford.

With the imminent arrival of Gareth Bale at the Bernabeu, Ozil is believed to have been made available with his chances of regular football in his favoured position set to be dented.

Moyes is desperate to take advantage of the situation, and is ready to spend £30m to bring the 24-year-old to United.

Ozil himself is keen to move on to guarantee regular football with the 2014 World Cup just around the corner.

Real value the playmaker at close to £40m, but with Bale set to cost them close to £100m – a world-record fee – they are anxious to raise funds.

The Red Devils have already missed out on a number of creative midfielders this summer, with Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara their initial top targets.

Moyes is also keen to secure deals for Everton duo Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini.
