Manchester United to launch Juventus raid

Stephan Lichtsteiner (Juvenuts-)Manchester United are considering a January move for Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Red Devils are set to delve into the transfer market this winter, with manager David Moyes desperate to put the frustrations of the last window behind him.

The Scot missed out on a number of targets, before being forced to pay an inflated £27.5m fee for Everton’s Marouane Fellaini.

Lichtsteiner is thought to be on the United chief’s radar ahead of the new year.

The Swiss international has been a key figure for the Turin side, helping them to claim the last two Serie A titles.

But, Juve could be open to selling the versatile defender, who is now 29-years-of-age.

Moyes is hopeful that a £10m offer may be enough to push through a deal, but it is thought that the Italians are only willing to do business for £14m.

Chelsea have previously been linked with the full-back – who is comfortable at either right-back or in a more advanced role on the same flank.

He joined Juve from domestic rivals Lazio in 2011 after developing a reputation as one if the division’s top talents.

Moyes sees him as the ideal man to offer some defensive stability, while boosting his side’s attacking threat.

Manchester United fans, would Stephan Lichtsteiner be a good signing?
