The Premier League champions have been heavily linked with the Chilean international over the course of the past few months, with David Moyes rumoured to see him as the ideal man to rebuild his engine room around.
Vidal has emerged as one of the world’s best all-round midfielders at Juve, with his commanding displays having helped the Old Lady to Serie A success.
Although he is an integral player in Turin, the 26-year-old is on a comparatively low wage to other players at the club, which has served to further tempt United.
Moyes is hopeful that offering Vidal a bumper contract will be enough to convince him to turn his back on his current side and become a part in rebuilding the club’s starting XI.
Although a January deal has long been thought of as impossible, United are believed to be in contact with Juve as they look to thrash out a move before the end of the month.
Chelsea’s Juan Mata may also be on his way to the club, with speculation suggesting that an agreement could be reached by the end of the week.
