Manchester United to revive interest in Barca ace

Alexis Sanchez (Barcelona)Manchester United boss David Moyes is keeping an eye on Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Premier League champions were heavily linked with a move for the impish attacker over the summer, but were unable to push through a deal as new Nou Camp chief Tata Martino persuaded him to stay.

However, Moyes has maintained an interest in the Chile international, and is ready to make a fresh attempt to secure his signature once the transfer window re-opens.

The Scot is believed to have a huge budget at his disposal this winter, with the club’s board willing to back him significantly following a number of botched deals last time around.

Although Sanchez has rediscovered his best form with Barca after a below-par period, doubts surrounding his future are still lingering.

The South American is currently battling the likes of Lionel Messi, Pedro, Andres Iniesta and Neymar for a starting berth, while a number of other young and talented players are also raring for an opportunity.

United are willing to offer Sanchez an almost guaranteed slot in their XI, which may appeal to the ex-Udinese man in the build-up to the World Cup.

As well as the 24-year-old, Moyes is also thought to be keen on Cesc Fabregas.

Could Alexis Sanchez be the man to reinvigorate Manchester United?
