Manchester United told to cough up £50m for duo

Everton's Leighton Baines and Marouane FellainiEverton will only sell Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines to Manchester United for a combined £50m, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Toffees duo have both been linked with moves to join their former boss David Moyes at Old Trafford for much of the summer.

The Red Devils have seen numerous bids for their signatures knocked back – the latest of which hit the £38m mark.

Everton are desperate to keep both Fellaini and Baines to aid their push for European qualification, and will only sell if each player fetches £25m.

The duo are believed to have told the Merseysiders that they want to move on, but manager Roberto Martinez and chairman Bill Kenwright are willing to play hardball.

Of the pair, they are more willing to sell Fellaini, with Wigan’s James McCarthy already being lined up as a replacement.

Martinez would like to move for the Irishman regardless of selling players, but cannot match the Latics’ £15m valuation.

But, Baines is seen as much harder to replace, so the club are reluctant to let him move.

If big fees are fetched for the pair, deals for Tom Ince of Blackpool and Manchester City’s Gareth Barry are high on the Goodison Park outfit’ list of priorities.

Manchester United fans, is £50m too much for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini?
