Zinedine Zidane has picked four players that he would sign if he ever became Manchester United manager, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper states that the Frenchman, who has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid at the end of last season, thinks that four new additions would significantly boost the Red Devils.
Bayern Munich duo Thiago Alcantara and James Rodriguez are on Zidane’s list, while Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos and Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani are also wanted.
There are no concrete suggestions that Zidane will replace under-pressure manager Jose Mourinho any time soon, but his name has been touted around as a possible successor if United were to make a change.
The North-West outfit have had a tough start to the season having recorded just two wins and two defeats in their opening four Premier League fixtures.
There is no doubt that United have the financial clout to land these targets if Zidane were to take the Old Trafford hotseat.
However, it would be a huge ask trying to convince all four to move over to the Premier League giants.
Zidane, of course, would be a major factor in a player deciding to sign for United, and his relationship with Kroos would certainly help lure the Madrid man to England.
Cavani could also potentially be swayed due to his previous friction with PSG’s main man Neymar, while James Rodriguez is in limbo as he is on loan at Bayern but remains on Real’s books.
Alcantara’s situation at the Bundesliga giants also seems uncertain, but United’s lack of a title challenge over the last few seasons could be a concern for transfer targets.
