As reported by The Daily Mail, Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Marco Verratti this summer by the player's agent, after a fall out with Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel.

What's the story?

Calciomercato are reporting that new PSG boss Tuchel had a meeting with Verratti about his future at the club and asked the midfielder to lose weight, something he has not taken kindly to.

In response, agent Mino Raiola has offered his services to a variety of European clubs, including Manchester United.

That's according to The Daily Mail, who say the Red Devils are currently weighing up making an offer for the Italian international.

Rated at £63m by Transfermarkt, is he a player who Man United should be prioritising this summer?

Should Man United make their move?

With the future of Marouane Fellaini in doubt, Michael Carrick retiring and Ander Herrera starting just 13 English Premier League matches last season, Manchester United need midfield answers in the upcoming transfer window, even taking into account the signing of Fred.

A midfield all-rounder, Verratti plays to the kind of standard that could improve the Man United midfield immensely next season and give them fantastic depth.

As shown by WhoScored, he posts impressive numbers and has a multi-faceted game. Averaging 2.3 tackles and 1.2 interceptions per game in Ligue 1 last season, he has the defensive chops that can help screen the United defence.

His technical ability and vision isn't in question either, with a 91.2% pass success rate, averaging an impressive 92.7 passes per game and 4.9 long balls per game.

With his situation at the French club now uncertain, Man United simply have to capitalise with a big money bid, forcing Paris Saint-Germain come to a definitive answer on his future either way.
