Midlands outfit chasing exciting swoop for Man United forward

According to reports from Express and Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers want to sign Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan for the 2016/17 campaign.

The English prodigy exploded onto the scene with two goals against Hull City on his first team debut, during Ryan Giggs’ short spell as interim manager at Old Trafford.

But the 20-year-old hasn’t progressed as expected since, finding just two more goals for the Red Devils at senior level and struggling for a significant role under Louis van Gaal.

Wilson spent the┬ámajority of last season on loan at Brighton and bagged five goals in 25 Championship outings – 18 of which were as a substitute.

United are open to sending the England U21 out on loan again next season if they can guarantee him more game-time and Wolves appear to be interested in a temporary deal.

They were looking to sign Wilson before his Brighton switch and have been tipped to revive their interest by Express and Star, who also moot Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford as a potential loan option.
