Mourinho already setting aside £27.5m to take international centre-back to Man United

Jose Mourinho is already looking at a €35m (£27.5m) summer move for Inter Milan centre-back Jeison Murillo if he is named as Manchester United‘s next boss, according to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Portuguese tactician is yet to be officially unveiled as Louis van Gaal’s successor, but there is growing speculation that a deal will go ahead at the end of the season with a ‘pre-contract agreement’ thought to be in place.

And amid claims that Mourinho wants to rebuild the ‘spine’ of this Red Devils team, reports claim that Murillo is a top target.

The 16-cap Colombia international has been a big hit at the San Siro since his 2015 move to the club from Granada, forming a solid relationship with Joao Miranda, which has helped to keep the club in the race for Champions League qualification.

Murillo, 23, is an athletic central defender with much promise, but Mourinho may face competition from Carlo Ancelotti – who will take over at Bayern Munich this summer.
