Mourinho destroyed by one of his old players

Manchester United had a day to forget yesterday as Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge saw him suffer the┬ásecond biggest defeat of his managerial career, with the 4-0┬áloss to Chelsea being the worst performance from a Mourinho side since he led Real Madrid to a 5-0 drubbing against Barcelona.

Naturally, the United boss has come under serious criticism following the performance, which followed last Monday’s drab 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield, and one Chelsea legend weighed in with a cheeky dig at his former manager on Twitter.

United fell behind after just 33 seconds in the match and it didn’t get better from there, with the Red Devils going on to concede three more, leaving themselves off the pace in the race for the Premier League title.

It doesn’t get any easier for United as their next match sees them clash with Manchester City in the EFL Cup this week, before a run of winnable games against Burnley, Fenerbahce and Swansea City in the next month.

Whilst Icelandic international Gudjohnsen twisted the knife in Mourinho during this awful day for the United boss, he followed his first tweet up with a message of support for the two-time Chelsea manager.
