Mourinho has turned down big jobs as he waits for Man United role

Jose Mourinho has turned down offers from teams in Italy and China in favour of keeping the door to Manchester United ajar, according to reports from The Sun.

The Portuguese coach is currently out of work after being sacked by Chelsea in December, but is believed to be ‘confident’ of stepping into the Old Trafford dugout amid widespread doubt surrounding Louis van Gaal’s position at the club.

It’s been suggested that he could be offered the job before the end of February with LVG struggling, and reports claim that Mourinho himself is so eager to relocate to Manchester that he’s rejected offers from Italy and China.

It’s understood that ‘The Special One’ has been told to sit tight and wait for United to make their move, which is likely to happen this summer, but that has not stopped interested parties from approaching the former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto tactician.

He’s believed to have been offered a role China, while an unnamed Italian side has also come forward, but has rebuffed advances.
