Mourinho in? Manchester United are actually regressing under Van Gaal

Manchester United’s season may well end with a trophy and ticker tape raining around their first-team stars at Wembley, but, will even an FA Cup win paper over the steadily widening cracks?

We could easily be accused of being overly negative about Louis van Gaal’s side… but at FFC Towers we’ve been doing some research, and our findings show that man United have actually REGRESSED over the Dutchman’s two seasons in charge at Old Trafford…

With the Premier League season now over, we thought it would make for interesting reading, especially amid reports Jose Mourinho has been told he’s in line to replace LVG, to reflect on the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach’s reign so far since his 2014 arrival.

As you can see, Man United have finished one place lower this term, registered four fewer points, scored on 13 fewer occasions, ‘enjoyed’ less possession and, unsurprisingly, won fewer games. Buuuuut, they’ve been better defensively with a tally of 37 v 35 – every cloud.
