Mourinho to cash-in on Man United duo who made 110 outings last season

According to reports from Sky Sports, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to sanction the departures of Juan Mata and Daley Blind during the summer transfer window.

The Portuguese was confirmed as the Red Devils’ new manager, replacing Louis van Gaal, last Friday and appears to be already planning a significant overhaul of his starting Xi with two players set for the axe.

Indeed, Sky Sports claim the new Old Trafford gaffer is ready to offload utility man Daley Blind and attacking midfielder Juan Mata, who made a combined 110 appearances across all competitions for United last season.

Blind, one of LVG’s first signings as United boss, doesn’t possess the physical attributes Mourinho desires in centre-halves in terms of pace, height and power.

Mata, meanwhile, was sold by The Special One to Manchester United during their time together at Chelsea – just six months after the Spain international had claimed a second Player of the Year award at Stamford Bridge.

According to Sky Sports, Mourinho is convinced he can acquire adequate replacements for both during the summer transfer window.
