Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted to fearing that Marouane Fellaini will leave the club.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford over the last couple of months.

The Belgium international's current contract expires at the end of the season, meaning that he can discuss a potential move with other suitors if he does not put pen to paper on a fresh deal.

Mercato claims that Paris Saint-Germain are weighing up a shock offer for the 30-year-old, who has divided opinion among the United following.

Fellaini has faced criticism from some quarters for not being up to scratch for a club of United's calibre.

Mourinho has often defended the midfielder, but now he feels that the two could part ways.

According to The Telegraph, when asked by reporters if he was worried that Fellaini could leave, the manager said:

"Yes. Nothing [I can do to convince him to stay]. It is a discussion between the player and the board. I’m not involved in contracts, deals. I respect both. The respect the player because he has the right, he has the right to decide his future. If he has finished his contract he has the right. I respect the board because the decisions and discussions are under their control. So I just wait, wishing they have an understanding but it is out of my control.”

United fans have given their say on social media.
