New Manchester United signing Anthony Martial is due to cost the club a further £7.2m, should he score 25 goals within four years, according to the Independent.
The 19-year old became the world’s most expensive teenager following his shock deadline day switch to Old Trafford, that saw his new club splash out an initial £36.3m to secure his services.
Now, further details have emerged about the deal that could reach a staggering £58m. Three instillations of £7.2m are set to be shelled out should certain criteria be satisfied.
Reports suggest, should the new man net 25 times in his first four years at the club, the first instillation will be paid. The same fee will be parted with should he make 25 international appearances for Les Blues over the same period of time.
Finally, the Sun report, the Manchester club will pay the last instillation should Martial win the Ballon D’or by June 2019.
The former Lyon youngster scored 15 goals in 70 appearances for Monaco over two years, and will wear the Number 9 shirt for the Red Devils.
Pending the payment of the first two instalments, the Martial deal will eclipse that of Raheem Sterling, who joined rivals Manchester City for £49m earlier in the summer.
Louis van Gaal’s new man is currently on international duty, aiming to make his senior debut for France.
