New Man United boss gives green light for £40m Bayern raid

New Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has given the nod for the club to bring Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos to Old Trafford this summer.

According to reports in the Daily Star, the 62-year-old Dutchman, who put pen-to-paper on a three year contract on Monday afternoon, has told Old Trafford chiefs they should move fast to secure the services of the highly rated German international.

And Van Gaal is reportedly prepared to splash out at least £40million on the midfielder, despite him having just on year left on his Bayern contract.

And he is also prepared to tempt the 24-year-old away from the Allianz Arena with a bumper £260,000-a-week contract.

Kroos scored two goals and assisted four in 29 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern this season.
