New Man United boss prepared to spend £200m budget

New Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is prepared to spend the entire £200m transfer budget he has been given, accord to the Daily Express.

The Dutchman put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Old Trafford on Monday afternoon, tasked with bringing back the glory days to United following a disastrous campaign under David Moyes.

And it is believed the 62-year-old has been given a huge £200m warchest to ensure he succeeds.

United have already offered £27m to Southampton for left-back Luke Shaw, while they are also reportedly close to a £30m deal for Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.

And since Van Gaal’s official appointment, the Red Devils have been closely linked with serious bids for Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos, Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels and Feyenoord’s Jody Clasie.

Other rumours suggest Van Gaal will attempt to bring Marco Reus and Arjen Robben to Old Trafford this summer, as well as Mario Mandzukic, Cesc Fabregas and Dejan Lovren.

But with the World Cup in Brazil this summer ultimately getting in the way of any potential big money arrivals at Old Trafford until late July, early August, Van Gaal will not have much time to build and develop a squad capable of an immediate return to the top four of the Premier League.
