Manchester United’s hopes of completing a swap deal between Angel Di Maria and Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale have been dealt a blow, according to the Mirror.
Recent reports have suggested the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been told he can leave the Bernabeu by manager Carlo Ancelloti, and could be used as a deal sweetener in an attempt to bring Angel Di Maria back to Spain.
But Bale’s agent David Mannaseh has rubbished such reports and insists a return to the Premier League is not on the Welshman’s radar any time soon.
He said: “Rubbish, these rumours about a swap are absolute rubbish.
“It is not true that Bale wants to return to the Premier League, everything is going well for him in Madrid and he wants to continue wearing the Real shirt.”
Gareth Bale took the La Liga by storm in his debut season with the Spanish giants last term, scoring 23 goals and assisting a further 17 in 43 first team appearances following his world-record £80million move from north London.
But a combination of injuries and the performances of replacement Isco have recently left his Real Madrid future in doubt.
