Style of football has been perhaps the most debated topic in the Premier League this season and no city has encapsulated that discussion better than Manchester.
While Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have used a brand of technical, energetic and creative football to slingshot themselves to the top of the Premier League table, eleven points clear of their closest competitors, Manchester United’s attempts to keep pace through Jose Mourinho’s more organised and pragmatic philosophy has inevitably drawn criticism.
Those styles clashed on Sunday in the Manchester derby and the purists will argue the right approach was vindicated. United fans clapped their fierce rivals off the park as Guardiola’s boys picked up a huge 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
But that doesn’t mean Old Trafford is no longer an entertaining ground. In fact, it’s the UK’s second-top sporting location for Instagram enthusiasts in 2017, per BBC Sport. Even if the football isn’t catching the photographer’s eye, Old Trafford’s iconic stands continue to do so. Instagram users only made more posts about Wembley in 2017.
