Andreas Pereira has revealed that he wants to stay at Valencia rather than return to parent club Manchester United in the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old, who is valued at £4.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, joined Valencia on a season-long loan from United in the latter stages of the summer.

United boss Jose Mourinho revealed shortly after that he was not entirely happy with Pereira's decision to leave, and it has been claimed that the Red Devils could decide to recall the Belgium-born midfielder at the start of 2018.

Pereira, however, has revealed that he is desperate to see out the season with Valencia having featured regularly for the Spanish outfit in the early stages of the 2017-18 campaign.

Pereira told Super Deportes:

"In my head I want to be here, help Valencia until June. It is the thought with which I came.

"I know that I have this clause in the assignment contract and now I have to wait to see. But my mind is focused on Valencia and I want to stay here.

"It is important that I am playing to grow, be better and help Valencia. It would be very difficult to return to United mid-year and continue with the same evolution that I'm having now."

Pereira has scored once and provided three assists in nine La Liga appearances for a Valencia team that sit second to Barcelona after a fine start to the season.

The midfielder signed a new two-year deal at United shortly before leaving on loan.
