Pogba due at Man United in coming hours for medical, player travelling now

Manchester United’s world record move for Paul Pogba is close to completion, with Gianluca Di Marzio having revealed that the Juventus man is travelling to England for a medical, which will take place around midday.

The 23-year-old’s potential transfer back to Old Trafford – he left the club in 2012 – has dominated headlines in recent weeks, and the Manchester giants caused quite a stir on Sunday by revealing that a deal has been agreed.

It’s believed that a world-record transfer fee, around £89m, will be paid for the Frenchman, who is reportedly on his way to the Premier League club to undergo a medical.

It’s understood that Pogba boarded a flight from Nice destined for Manchester at 9:15 English time this morning and is due at Man United’s Carrington training complex for assessments at midday.

Assuming the formalities progress without a hitch, an announcement could be imminent.

It’s unlikely that Pogba will be match fit for at least another few weeks, with the rangy midfielder having not yet returned to pre-season training following an extended holiday after EURO 2016.
