Although Man United have remained confident of snapping up the 23-year-old, there has been interest from Real Madrid and claims that the player himself preferred the La Liga side.

However, reports now claim that the Manchester giants have effectively sealed a deal for Pogba, who is set to undergo a medical in Los Angeles today, at which point the transfer should be made official.

The player is on his post-EURO 2016 break in America, but has travelled from Miami, Florida to the Californian city.

Pogba will become the most expensive footballer in the history of the game, surpassing Gareth bale (£86m) and Cristiano Ronaldo (£80m).

The rangy midfielder only left Man United in 2012 after failing to make the grade under then manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, with Juventus paying an £800,000 compensation fee for him.
