Manager Jose Mourinho is considering a move to appoint Gary Neville and keep Ryan Giggs as part of his coaching staff once his arrival at Manchester United is confirmed, Express reports.
The club elected to sack now former boss Louis van Gaal yesterday, with the ex-Chelsea manager expected to be announced as his replacement in the coming days.
Despite winning the FA Cup, Van Gaal’s failure to secure a Champions League spot next season eventually saw him lose his job at Old Trafford.
With the Dutchman’s coaching staff also seeing their contracts terminated, Mourinho is ready to invite club legend Neville to the club, and is eager to keep Giggs.
Neville could be interested in the opportunity following a failed managerial spell at Valencia, while Giggs is believed to be considering an exit in order to develop his coaching career elsewhere.
Mourinho led Chelsea to a Premier League title during the 2014/15 campaign, but saw his time cut short the following season when he was sacked back in December after a very disappointing start to their title defence.
