It’s no secret that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is having an exceptional season at Manchester United.
He was of course tipped to make a massive impact at Old Trafford but at 35, did anyone expect him to be reaching some of the best form of his career?
That’s exactly what is happening and although under pressure at times this season, credit has to be given to manager Jose Mourinho for bringing the best out of his star striker.
Ibrahimovic was in scoring form on Wednesday night, latching onto Pogba’s pass before firing beautifully past the ‘keeper to give United a massive three points. That goal was number 14 at Manchester United for the Swedish legend and that’s one of the best starts he’s ever had at a club across his entire career.
This stat from @Squawka shows how true that is. Ibrahimovic has eclipsed his start at both Juventus and Barcelona. Further to that he’s also outscoring himself compared to his starts at Ajax and Inter.
It’s only at PSG he’s exceeded this season’s haul by this point in a debut season, scoring 19 by the time December 15th hit.
It’s incredible at the age of 35 and shows just what an inspired decision it was to bring him to Old Trafford.
