Rashford and Martial both start for Manchester United, fans react

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has often been accused of ‘parking the bus’ when his team take on their big rivals in the Premier League.

This afternoon, though, the Portuguese coach has indicated that his first XI will go all out for victory against Manchester City at Old Trafford.

Usually Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford alternate for matches, but on this occasion, both have been selected to start.

Jesse Lingard, who has been in goalscoring form of late, also joins the pair to provide support to Romelu Lukaku up front.

The inclusion of these players means that United could potentially cause havoc for their rivals on the counter-attack.

With City holding an eight-point lead at the top of the table heading into the derby, there is a sense that United need to pick up all three points in order to keep themselves in the title race.

This could be why Mourinho has decided to pick an attacking team for this afternoon’s crunch match.

After the team news was announced, fans were drawn to the manager’s decision to play both Martial and Rashford.
