Rashford misses out on big award, Man United fans unhappy

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford finished second in the prestigious Golden Boy award for the best young player in Europe behind Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches, but fans of the Old Trafford side believe he should have won.

Portuguese sensation Sanches, who earned a lucrative move to Bayern Munich in the summer following his displays with Benfica, lifted the European Championship with his nation after a famous victory over France.

An international honour and a huge transfer to one of Europe’s biggest sides clearly isn’t enough to persuade many Manchester United fans that Sanches is the real deal, though, as they feel Rashford’s rise last season should have seen him crowned winner.

Excluding the fact that Sanches is a European champion, Rashford has still struggled to hold down a regular starting berth for Man United whilst the Portuguese was integral for Benfica last season and has started life in the Bundesliga with Carlo Ancelotti’s side positively.

United fans are clearly wearing red-tinted glasses as they look towards this case, but we’ll let you decide whether they have a point or not…
