It seems that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still on the hunt for a new striker to add to his forward line.

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Manchester United are currently looking at two different options to bolster their squad in the January transfer window - Wolverhampton Wanderer's Raul Jimenez and Lyon's Moussa Dembele.

Quickfire Quiz: How much do you know about Man Utd's history in the January transfer window?

Both players have been performing admirably in their respective leagues in 2019/20, but when it comes to choosing one of them, the Red Devils should definitely have a clear favourite.

Despite being somewhat more lethal in the box, Dembele is still one step behind Wolves' star.

This becomes clear when we compare their respective statistics in domestic league competition so far in the 2019/20 campaign.

We can immediately see that Dembele has managed to bag 11 goals in 19 appearances while Jimenez sits on eight in 22. But this does balance itself out once assists are also added to the equation.

With six assists compared to the Frenchman's one, Jimenez can boast with 14 total goal contributions vs Dembele's 12 and has a somewhat bigger impact in the final third.

It's not only the final product that the Wolves man can boast a superior output for.

Jimenez is also a highly creative player who averages 1.6 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game in 2019/20, while being dispossessed 1.7 times per game.

Dembele, on the other hand, is lagging behind in all three categories with 0.9 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game, and he is also dispossessed more frequently with 1.9 per game as well.

Not to mention that Jimenez is already proven in the Premier League while Lyon's star might take some time to adapt, if he adapts at all.

This is not really such a far fetched claim when we compare him to Arsenal's Nicholas Pepe, who was also a hit in France but has struggled to emulate his form from Ligue 1 in England.

Going for Jimenez would surely be a better choice for Solskjaer right now.
