Manchester United are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani, according to reports from ESPN.
Cavani has been heavily linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes in recent weeks, with the Uruguay international falling out with PSG manager Laurent Blanc.
The former Napoli ace is frustrated at being behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the pecking order, which has seen Blanc deploy Cavani on the wing rather than as a centre-forward.
And his situation has seen Arsenal linked with a move for his signature, but they are set to be joined by league rivals Man United in the chase.
Reports claim representatives of the 28-year-old have opened talks with their Old Trafford counterparts in order to rekindle United’s previous interest, as they believe their client can offer them a source of goals.
The Red Devils have been often criticised for their lack of attacking output, and could solve the problem by securing a deal for Cavani this month.
Cavani made 52 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 31 goals.
