Paul Pogba re-signed for Manchester United in 2016 for a then-world record transfer fee of £89 million. Since his return to Old Trafford – having initially left the club in 2012 – the Frenchman has lifted the Europa League and League Cup trophies. However, the 25-year-old continues to divide opinions amongst fans and pundits alike.
Despite racking up very respectable stats – he scored six goals and registered ten assists in 27 Premier League appearances last time out – the World Cup winner has failed to perform at his highest level anywhere near consistently enough to justify his astronomical price tag.
Off the pitch, Pogba has attracted further criticism. His relationship with manager Jose Mourinho is clearly strained and the midfielder’s attitude has been questioned. The Red Devils would certainly have been expecting a far more convincing return upon their investment at this stage.
Despite all of Pogba’s talent, the club may now be approaching a breaking point with the France international. Fans, equally, are seemingly losing patience with Pogba. 64% of these polled Manchester United supporters would happily see Pogba sold this January. See the full results below.
