As Manchester United’s major summer signing, Fred, may well have expected more first-team involvement at Old Trafford than Jose Mourinho has handed him up to this point.

After his big money summer switch from Shakhtar Donetsk, the 11-cap Brazil international started the first three games of the season for the Red Devils. Since then, though, the 25-year-old midfielder has only been sparsely involved despite Mourinho’s side having endured some awful results in that time.

Fred was benched once again last time out as Manchester City dominated the game and controlled the middle of the park throughout the Manchester derby. A barely-fit Marouane Fellaini started against the Cityzens instead of Fred, though, the Belgian could do nothing to prevent United falling to a chastening 3-1 defeat.

United fans certainly feel the time has come for the Portuguese boss to restore Fred to the starting XI, with 96% of those who took part in our poll voting in favour of the Brazilian being included from the off against Crystal Palace. See the full results below.
