Marseille right-back Bouna Sarr impressed for his team despite their 3-0 Europa League final defeat against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, and his performance didn’t go unnoticed by Manchester United supporters on Twitter as they urged their club to bring him to Old Trafford.
The Frenchman showed the energy that he has and his ability to get up and down the pitch, and he proved to be a real threat to Atletico left-back Lucas Hernandez because of his pace and skill, even if his end product looks to need a little work.
Strong defensively too and an expert tackler, the 26-year-old looks to have all of the ingredients needed to replace Antonio Valencia as the Red Devils’ first-choice right-back next season, with the 32-year-old being criticised by some of his own fans on Twitter for his performances this term.
We asked Man United supporters to vote on our poll to see whether they would like to see Sarr replace Valencia in the first team, and a majority 55% said they would.
The defender may come at a price however, given he only recently signed a new deal that is due to keep him at Marseille until 2022.
