Former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay scored a hat-trick for Lyon to take them into the Champions League on Sunday, and his performance didn't go unnoticed by Red Devils fans on Twitter, who urged their club to bring him back to Old Trafford.

The treble in the 3-2 win against Nice at the weekend took the Netherlands international's goal tally for the season to 22 in 51 appearances in all competitions, while he also provided a further 17 assists.

That was a far cry from his form when he was with United, where he was labelled a flop after finding the net on just seven occasions – and picking up six assists – in 53 outings before he was sold to Lyon in January 2017.

However, Jose Mourinho's men's problems in attack were highlighted during the dismal 1-0 FA Cup final defeat against Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday, when the likes of Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez failed to fire with Romelu Lukaku only fit enough for a spot on the substitutes' bench.

We asked Man United fans to vote on our poll to see whether they would like Depay to return to Old Trafford, and a majority 70% said they would.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho would move for the Dutchman seeing as he plays on the left wing – like Sanchez and Anthony Martial – but he will certainly be on the radar if he is looking to bring in a new wide player this summer.
