Sir Alex’s ‘Greatest XI’ in his 25 years…well in my view!

Manchester United have been crowned Champions of England for a record 19th time this year, as Sir Alex Ferguson delivers yet another winning side following just 12 months off the perch. Never shy to wield the axe, the Scot has once again proved his propensity for discovering successful talent and moulding a team in the image of previously successful sides, following the departures of significant influences. After Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez left Old Trafford, and the club fell behind Chelsea in the League and were eliminated from the Champions’ League at the quarter-final stage last year, many observers doubted the club’s title credentials this season.

But Ferguson has always triumphed in the face of adversity, not to mention outlived every pretender, and heads in to the Champions’ League Final next weekend with the chance to return with United’s fourth European Cup. Given that this time of year encourages reflection, I have selected Ferguson’s best Premier League XI. What do you think and who have I left out?
