Smalling happy with Man United win

Manchester United put their Europa League campaign back on track with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Fenerbache last night, which leaves Jose Mourinho’s side in a good position ahead of Sunday’s huge Premier League clash with Chelsea.

The Red Devils were under pressure following an uninspiring performance in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Monday evening, but a decent showing at Old Trafford saw them emerge with all three points on the night, putting them joint-top of Group A in the Europa League alongside Feyenoord.

Following the result, Manchester United defender Chris Smalling took to social media to celebrate the victory and rally the troops ahead of Sunday’s match-up with Mourinho’s former side.

Defeat to Chelsea at the weekend could leave Manchester United six points off the top four and eight points off the summit of the Premier League, depending on how other results go, whilst a victory over the Blues would see them leapfrog their opponents in the table and put themselves right back in the race for the top four.

Man United have won just one of their last four Premier League matches and need to make vast improvements if they are to be genuine contenders for honours this season.
