Uruguay left-back Diego Laxalt is a wanted man by some Manchester United supporters after helping Uruguay into the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a 2-1 win over Portugal on Saturday night.

Edinson Cavani was the national hero of the evening for the South Americans after his superb double, but Laxalt also caught the eye with his industrious display on the left flank that contributed to an excellent defensive performance.

Playing his club football at Serie A side Genoa, where he is a regular, the defender is now being touted as a potential solution to United's left-back woes of recent seasons.

Winger Ashley Young has had to play the position on a regular basis at Old Trafford recently, with the likes of Luke Shaw not trusted by Jose Mourinho to perform at the top level.

Is Laxalt the answer for the Red Devils moving forward?

These Man United fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on a potential switch after his Saturday performance...
