Southampton star to reject Manchester United move

Luke Shaw (Southampton)Luke Shaw is set to snub January interest from Manchester United to stay at Southampton, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Saints full-back has a rumoured target for the Premier League champions, who are shopping for a new left-sided defender.

Shaw has emerged as on of English football’s finest talents over the course of the last year, with his rampaging displays making him a first-team regular at St Mary’s Stadium despite being just 18-years-of-age.

United have been impressed by the teenager, and are believed to see him as a better long-term investment than Leighton Baines – who is believed to be on David Moyes’ radar.

But, Shaw is not interested in a switch to Old Trafford, and is instead keen to stay on the South Coast until he can make a move to Chelsea.

The youngster is a big Blues fan, and is desperate to represent the London club in the future.

A source close to the defender revealed that he is no rush to make a decision and that he would love to join Chelsea in the future:

“Luke’s a huge Chelsea fan and he’d be delighted to play for them.

“United’s interest is flattering but he knows he doesn’t have to rush anywhere just yet.”

Should Luke Shaw hold out for Chelsea? Or could he fulfil his ambitions at Southampton or Manchester United?
