Spaniards join the race for Man United transfer target

Manchester United have been dealt a blow following the news that Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos has emerged as a transfer target for Real Madrid, according to talkSPORT.

The midfielder is no closer to signing a new deal at the Allianz Arena, and is likely to be on the move in the summer.

David Moyes has made the 24-year-old – who is set to feature against United in the second leg of tomorrow night’s Champions League quarter final – a top transfer target for the summer.

Barcelona have previously been linked with the German international, but reports in Spain suggest their arch rivals Real Madrid are now monitoring the situation.

It is suggested that the Spanish giants are set to give Kroos the option of joining for a fee in the summer, or moving on a bosman deal when his contract expires in 2015.

Manchester United had hoped the offer of a lucrative contract would see them complete the signing, but it remains to be seen whether Kroos will be more interested in the offer of Champions League football at the Bernabeu.
