Spaniards ready to take Man United ace for free

Real Madrid remain keen on Manchester United’s David de Gea, but reports from the Daily Mail suggest they’re ready to wait until he’s a free agent in 2016 before making a move.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been, arguably, the Red Devils’ best performer in an up and down season at Old Trafford, with his heroics between the sticks a big factor in the club’s current top four berth.

This form has alerted Real, who are rumoured to be keen to lure him back to his homeland as they plot for life after Iker Casillas – who has suffered an alarming dip in form over the past few years.

Although Los Blancos would ideally like to take De Gea this summer, United’s reluctance to sell and rumoured £50m asking price are issues.

Real may sign Chelsea’s Petr Cech as a short-term option, yet the Theatre of Dreams stopper remains their target, with a free transfer appealing.
