Victor Valdes remains out in the cold at Manchester United despite being included in Louis van Gaal’s Premier League squad after failing to secure a move away from the club over the summer, according to reports from the Manchester Evening News.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper was expected to leave Old Trafford after falling out with LVG, who was critical of his attitude.
However, despite speculation that a move to Turkey was close to going through before the close of the transfer window, the ex-Barcelona star remains at United and has even been included in the club’s Premier League roster for the season.
However, reports claim that his name features merely to conform with regulations and that he has no future at the club, which is further backed up by the club’s refusal to hand him a squad number.
Valdes has sat out of every United game so far this season, despite David de Gea also being out of action due to his own transfer issues.
Their absences have forced LVG to use summer recruit Sergio Romero, who was released by Sampdoria earlier this year.
