Spanish giants ready to save Man United hot-shot

Atletico Madrid are the latest side to be linked with a summer move for out-of-favour Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez, according to reports from The Metro.

The Mexican star has been a peripheral figure at Old Trafford under David Moyes this season, making just 11 starts in all competitions.

This has led to the player himself stating his concern at a lack of playing time on several occasions, which has prompted speculation that he may elect to leave in the coming months.

Atletico have been alerted by this, and are keen to offer him an escape route.

Even if they don’t lose star striker Diego Costa, the Madrid side are looking to bolster their attacking ranks and see the penalty box predator as a wise addition as they set about disturbing the La Liga duopoly of Barcelona and Real Madrid on a permanent basis.

The 25-year-old looked initially to have a bright future in England after arriving from Chivas Guadalajara in 2011, yet he has struggled to hold down a starting berth during the last two years.

Chicharito could be one of a number of players to leave United this summer, with a host of experienced stars said to be on the verge of moves.
