Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to slam Alexis Sanchez, after the forward took to his Instagram to apologise for the club’s dismal season.
Sanchez and his teammates endured a turbulent campaign under both Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to eventually finish sixth in the table, and closer to the relegation zone than the top of the table in terms of points.
Will OGS still be in charge of Man Utd come next May? The Flying Pig discusses in the video below…
Almost every one of the United players disappointed this term, but Sanchez was amongst the worst performers and did practically nothing; to make matters worse, he is the highest earner at the club on a reported £400,000-a-week contract.
The Chile international also hit just a single league goal. Despite that, he should be commended for coming out and issuing a heartfelt apology to the supporters, something that can’t be said of his teammates.
United fans on Twitter do not feel the same way, however, and have been busy criticising the former Arsenal man, somewhat unfairly given his thoughtful sentiment…
Alexis Sanchez has issued an apology.
“Players and Staff are questioning if we were doing the right thing and if we were giving our best for this football shirt … I'm certain that United one day will return to be the club, as it was in the old days with Mr. Alex Ferguson.” pic.twitter.com/uE5NIIFC1J

Could he just leave the club? That’s the best apology

i wouldn’t believe a word he says until he publicly says he’s going to cut his wages by 75%

The best apology would be leaving our club. He does not have anything more to offer.

we don’t need his apology let him leave our club as soon as possible pay cheque merchant.

Yo, the best way to apologise is to PACK YOUR BAGS & LEAVE US FOR GOOD.#GGMU

He’s just using this club as a cash cow. He doesn’t want to play. Any contact he’s looking for an excuse to be “injured” for a few weeks. His mentality is not of a winner. He needs to be gone! Highest paid flop in premier league history ?
