Wayne Rooney’s latest injury has only fuelled the fires of this summer’s transfer saga, with the Manchester United forward said to be on his way out of Old Trafford. On the whole, it isn’t a dark cloud approaching the club, as much can be gained from the sale of Rooney this summer.
United may not want to sell to a Premier League rival, but Arsenal are said to be leading the race for the player’s signature. For all three parties it may be the best option, with little in the way of interest from abroad and the player’s likely preference for a stay in England.
For United, however, this is a chance to move on and establish a new era under David Moyes.
