Too big for his boots? Man United youngster demands £32k per week pay rise

According to reports from The Sun, Anthony Martial wants a pay rise at Manchester United.

The France international moved to Old Trafford last summer in a controversial £36million transfer from Monaco, where he’d previously emerged as one of the most exciting youngsters in Ligue 1.

The 20-year-old signed a four-year contract at the time, seeing him take home £68k per week, but has since emerged as one of the key players in United’s starting Xi.

Indeed, Martial finished last season with 17 goals across all competitions, including eleven goals in the Premier League, despite spending much of the campaign in his less preferred left wing role.

According to The Sun, that has convinced the powerful forward that he’s deserving of a pay rise to £100k per week and he’s now set to ‘tap on Jose Mourinho’s door’ to request a new deal.

The Portuguese, who was announced as the Old Trafford outfit’s new manager last week, has already sanctioned improved contracts for fellow youngsters Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
