Hugo Lloris says that he is “happy” at Spurs despite seeing a potential late summer move to Manchester United collapse.
The France international was linked with a switch to Old Trafford over the summer and recently hinted that the opportunity to make the move was there for him until David de Gea’s Real Madrid move collapsed.
Lloris has been at White Hart Lane for three years now after joining the London club from Lyon, and in that time he’s not experienced Champions League football, which has fuelled speculation of a transfer away for some time.
However, the Les Bleus captain has confirmed that he’s fully committed to Tottenham despite the links:
“Of course I am happy here. I have already replied to that type of questions. The only thing I can say today is I am happy at Tottenham and I will do my best to help the team get the best results possible.” He is quoted by the London Evening Standard.
“I am just focused on the present. I am not here to talk about my future or past. I’m just focused on the Europa League game against Qarabag and the Premier League as well.
“There is a lot of competition to play and compete. I’m happy to be here, I have some commitment and responsibility to my team-mates and I am really enjoying that.”
Lloris is considered to be one of the very best goalies in the Premier League, with his ‘sweeper-keeper’ style having been praised in the past.
He signed a five-year contract with Spurs in 2014.
