Tottenham ace key to potential Man United signing

Gareth Bale, Tottenham

Manchester United are relying on Gareth Bale joining Real Madrid in order to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, reports the Sun.

The Red Devils are confident that if Real Madrid signed the Tottenham star, then Cristiano Ronaldo would be open to returning to Old Trafford this summer.

Bale has been linked with an £80million move to PSG and Real Madrid, but so far Spurs have reiterated that the Welshman is not for sale.

But United are hoping that Tottenham’s stance on the forward changes, as they believe he would be a perfect replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at Madrid. David Moyes would then offer £65million plus a player, believed to be either Nani or Hernandez, for Ronaldo’s signature.

However, Real president Florentino Perez is confident that Ronaldo will stay at the Spanish capital this summer, and for the long future:

“I would bet Cristiano will retire at Real Madrid.”

Ronaldo spent 6 years at Old Trafford, before his record £80million move to Madrid. And United are confident that despite interest from PSG, the Portuguese winger will only join them if he was to leave the Bernabeu.

Now United, who were once linked with Bale, are now desperate that he signs for the La Liga side, instead of staying in the Premier League.

Will Bale join Madrid? Will Ronaldo re-join United?
