Transfer stunner: Man United want Arsenal’s Sanchez

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal wants Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to make a stunning move from the Emirates Stadium to Old Trafford to become the cornerstone of a new-look Red Devils side, according to reports from Don Balon.

The North West giants have been roundly criticised for their ‘dull’ brand of football so far this season, despite sitting in fourth spot after 12 games.

The major bone of contention has been the lack of goalscoring threat, with Wayne Rooney’s strike in Champions League action against CSKA Moscow last week having ended a 404 minute barren run.

And reports claim that Van Gaal is eager to address the issue with a staggering move for Sanchez.

The Chilean has only been with the Gunners since the summer of 2014, but has been a huge hit in north London with 22 goals in Premier League action.

A move from Arsenal to United would appear unlikely, with Arsene Wenger’s side thought to be willing to make Sanchez their highest paid player with a new contract.
