Twitter couldn’t get enough of Mourinho’s first Man United press conference

Jose Mourinho held his first press conference as Manchester United manager today as the football world came to a stand still to listen to ‘The Special One’s’ first words as manager at Old Trafford.

Mourinho was appointed as United boss back in May in controversial fashion, having been fired from rivals Chelsea only six months previous – where he left the club in 16th place, losing nine out of his 16 league games up until his departure from the club.

The Portuguese star was quick to defend himself though, when question about his need to ‘prove a point’ following his poor season at Chelsea, taking aim at both Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola as he answered journalists.

“There are some managers that the last time they won a title was ten years ago. The last time I won a title it was one year ago.” he said.

“If I have something to prove, imagine the others! To finish 4th is not the aim.”

Mourinho also took aim at new City boss and former La Liga rival Pep Guardiola when asked about his aim for the season with United, saying: “I was never very good playing with words and hiding behind words and hiding behind philosophies. I was never good with that. I never tried to be”

He then added: “I want to be more aggressive. And to be more aggressive is to say we want to win.”

Manchester United fans have gone into complete meltdown in Twitter as they react to their new boss and saviour throwing shade at his rivals already.
